It's pretty easy to find healthy options and to eat clean at most all of Disney's table service restaurants, but what about at the Quick Service locations in all the parks and resorts?
Well, it's not all cheeseburgers, chicken nuggets and french fries. There are LOTS of GREAT items that are available around Walt Disney World® Resort that are on the healthy side of the spectrum.
Disney realizes that many people choose to live a healthier lifestyle and would like to have cleaner food choices that includes fresh fruits, veggies, green salads and non-fried food options to enjoy whether at their resort hotel or in the parks.
I have compiled a list of items that you can find around Disney's "4" theme parks that you can use either a Quick Service meal credit or Snack credit for with your Dining Plan.
Tips: Disney does NOT distinguish between children and adults when it comes to quick service meals or snacks...they are one in the same. You can also use (1) Quick Service meal credit for (3) Snacks at a Quick Service location, but it has to be done all on one transaction. You will need to tell the Cast Member checking you out that you would like to exchange (1) Quick Service meal for (3) Snacks so that she pulls the correct credit entitlement from your dining plan.
Where can I find snacks?
You can typically find snack items at most food carts, stores and quick service restaurant locations in the parks, Disney resorts and around Disney Springs. If you are traveling to Epcot during the International Food and Wine Festival or the Flower and Garden Festival you can redeem snack credits at most food kiosks for a variety of fun tastings, but be sure to look for the DPP logo to be sure your dining plan is accepted at each location.
The general value of a "snack" credit is $5.00, but there are many things that you can use your snack credits for that would cost you more than $5 if you paid for them out of pocket.

Disney has recently announced "Incredible Summer" list of new shows, characters and attractions set to open for summer 2018.
I often hear people say things like, "It's too crowded," or "It's too hot during the summer to go to Disney." Well, it also happens to be the best time to be able to check out all the new attractions, shows that may only be happening just for summer (last year's The Music of Pixar - Live! was great!), and enjoy the refreshing water parks, and to be honest, I have never found the park crowds to be any worse during the summer months than any other time of the year...sometimes it's better, actually.
Now, lets take a look at the new things opening for summer.
Magic Kingdom:
The Incredibles Take Over Tomorrowland
Park guests can party with Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl and Frozone from Disney Pixar's "The Incredibles" and the soon to be blockbuster "Incredibles 2." Edna Mode, the greatest superhero costume designer, will also make her debut appearance. Characters will interact with park guests around Tomorrowland before taking the stage each evening for a "SUPER" dance party on the Rocket Tower Stage This is set to begin May 25, 2018.

Toy Story Land Opens Summer 2018
This is probably the most highly anticipated opening for this summer. This new 11-acre section of Disney's Hollywood Studios will shrink park guests to the size of a toy to allow you to have fun exploring Andy's backyard. Here you will be able to experience two new attractions: the Slinky Dog Dash coaster and Alien Swirling Saucers. One of this park's top attractions will be found in this new section of the park now complete with a new entrance...Toy Story Midway Mania. Woody's Lunch Box will be the new quick service option for this section of the park and feature tasty meals and old-fashioned soda fountain floats.
*Disney has not yet announced an opening date for Toy Story Land, so stay tuned because it will be coming in the next few month.

Are you the type of person that when you hear that you should plan to be at the parks when they first open in the morning "bright and early" with your family in tow and silently cringes thinking, "How in the HECK am I going to survive this without my morning cup of coffee, or better yet....without and extra shot of something in that coffee?
Well, you will be happy to know that you aren't alone in that thinking process and Disney has you covered with a Starbucks location in each of its four theme parks. If you've been to Walt Disney World® Resort in the past and don't recall seeing one in the parks, it may be because in true Disney style they don't have large "Starbucks HERE" sign hanging out in front of the building and want to keep the overall theme of each theme park consistent with their branding as much as possible. But they are there and I'm going to let you in on a few "Tips" that may bring a smile to your face the next time you hear your kids, spouse or friends say..."I want to go back to Disney again!," because, let's be real...you know it's gonna happen! Haha
Before I get started with all the details about where you can find each Starbucks location, let me answer one of the MOST popular questions I get asked by people, "Can I use my dining plan credits at Starbucks while I'm there?," and the answer is YES! You can can use your Snack credits for....you may want to sit down for this one....ANY size specialty beverage you would like, including that extra shot of espresso or special flavoring you may find that you need at the time. See! I told you this would make you smile, didn't I? Now, let's move on to the nitty gritty.

See! I told you this would make you smile, didn't I? Now, let's move on to the nitty gritty.
Like I said above, you won't see any big "Starbucks Here" signs inside Disney's theme parks, so you need to know the "Disney" name for each location to either find on a park map or so you know what to ask for directions to if you can't find it.
At Magic Kingdom, you will see the Main Street Bakery, located on the right-hand side of Main Street U.S.A as you are walking towards Cinderella's castle. At Hollywood Studios, you will find Starbucks located at the Trolly Car Cafe, located on the right-hand side of the corner of Hollywood and Sunset Blvd. At Epcot, you find the Starbucks in the Fountain View, which is located to the right of the main fountain after you walk past Spaceship Earth. And at Animal Kingdom you will find Starbucks located inside Creature Comforts, which is located on the left-hand side just before you cross the bridge into the Africa section of the park.
Disney Springs is the only area that has two locations. The smaller location is located near the World of Disney store in Marketplace and the larger store is located on the West Side by the water near AMC Disney Springs 24.
Fun Tips:
Now that you know "where" to find your Starbucks fix let's talk about some fun tips that you may or may not already know.
Almost everything on the Starbucks menu is considered to a "snack" meaning you can use the snack credits on your dining plan to pay for either a beverage or food item. The menu is a combination of both Starbucks and Disney items, like specialty cupcakes and Mickey shaped items.
If you are not using a Disney Dining Plan during your trip not to worry, you have options for paying fo your purchase. The Starbucks locations at Walt Disney World® Resort accept Starbucks Gift Cards or Disney Gift Cards, but you can only use your Starbucks Reward Points at the (2) Disney Springs locations. If you have the Starbucks app, you can use it for payment at all locations around Walt Disney World® Resort, and you can earn Stars (no Bonus Stars though, sorry). If you have earned enough stars for free drinks, you can only redeem those at the Disney Springs locations, not in the park.
Did you know that you can order your Starbucks BEFORE the park opens? Yes, you can but only at the Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios locations. Both of these parks allow guests to enter a certain area of the park before it officially opens, which just has a Starbucks within the area that is open for part guests. The lines can be long first thing in the morning, but they tend to move.
If you would like to collect coffee cups as a souvenir of where you have traveled, you can do so at each of these locations as well. You will find the popular "You Are Here" mugs that feature each park and new ceramic ornament exclusively available at Walt Disney World® Resort.
So there you have it! You are now armed with all the important information to fulfill your Starbucks needs the next time you find yourself at Walt Disney World® Resort feeling a little like Minnie.

- At the larger store on the West Side, there is a screen where you can see the Disneyland Starbucks location and the people in that location can see you at Walt Disney World® Resort.
- At the smaller location in Merchants Square, you can order delivery to wherever you are in Disney Springs. Just download the official Starbucks app, make sure your credit card information is linked, touch the "Order" tab, select the Marketplace location, and then make your selections. Call the location at (407) 279-2794 to let them know where you are located in Disney Springs and they will bring it to you. This service is available between the hours of 8:00 am - 10:00 pm.

It's the 1st day of spring for 2017, can you believe it?! Depending on where in the country you live you may have been already enjoying nice, warm spring days before winter storm, Stella decided to blast us all with, what is hopefully, the last of the winter cold...brrr.
I recently returned from our agency's annual "Polish Your Ears" conference at Walt Disney World® Resort where signs of spring are evident everywhere around the parks and resorts with plenty of beautiful spring flowers in hanging baskets and planted flower beds. It is such a nice time to visit Disney when the flowers are in full bloom and the weather isn't too hot yet.
While at Disney our team spent some time increasing our knowledge base about Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa in Ko Olina, Hawaii, Adventures by Disney's land and river cruise adventures and what has changed around Disney Springs and Disney's theme parks. It was a very busy six days, and I clocked around 27 miles in the process. Whew! No wonder I came home a little tired. Haha

The above photo was taken after we completed a crazy, but fun, scavenger hunt all around Epcot. We looked like we were all on an episode of The Amazing Race all racing around as fast as we could trying to win with the most points. What did I learn during this exercise...there is a pressed penny machine in just about every souvenir shop in every country around World Showcase, and you could find a hidden Mickey in the oddest of places. My team took first place in what I now call, "The Amazing Epcot Scavenger Hunt 2017." Haha!
On our last day at Walt Disney World we did what we always do...open Magic Kingdom right at park opening to practice what we preach running the park plan that we suggest to all of our clients making sure that it still works as it had in the past, what changes we may need to make and adjust our suggestions to our clients accordingly. If you have booked your Disney vacation through me, you know that your final trip packet includes your customized park plan with personal itinerary tips, as well as our "Tip & Tricks" for each of Disney's four theme parks and water parks. You are very well prepared with everything you will need to know before you ever get to Disney.
The same holds true when you book a Disney Cruise Line vacation as well. Disney Cruise Line has their own way of doing some things that keep them unique from other cruise lines in the industry, and I make sure that you are well prepared for your cruise vacation. Disney has made sure that you will experience the same Disney magic and special touches onboard their cruise ships just as you do in their theme parks.
A Few New Dining Locations I visited!
Let's talk food for a few minutes! I usually make a point to try some new dining locations that I have not experienced before while I'm at Disney, and this time Disney Springs seemed appropriate, considering all the new places that have opened there over this past year. The day I arrived at Disney another agent and I took the ferry from our resort over to Disney Springs for lunch at the newly refurbished Paddlefish, and it did not disappoint! She had the crab fries, and I had one of the best crab cake sandwiches that I think I've ever had! If you find yourself there near sunset or the evening hours I would suggest trying out their rooftop lounge for a nice view of the lake. It's no secret that The BOATHOUSE is one of my favorite places to eat when I'm there, but I think Paddlefish may give The BOATHOUSE a slight run for the money. Time will tell, but I will return to Paddlefish again!

The second new location I decided to check out was also at Disney Springs with dinner one evening at Chef Art Smith's Homecoming Kitchen. I had been hearing lots of good things about this place, so I decided I needed to try it out for myself since I am often asked for recommendations for good places to dine while assisting with the planning of magical Disney vacations.
I enjoyed the casual, relaxed atmosphere of this restaurant from the comfortable outdoor patio seating out front to the friendly and knowledgeable staff and personal attention to service inside. Most items on the menu here have a story behind it that relates to something significant or special in Chef Art Smith's life, so feel free to ask your server and find out a little fun fact. While Chef Art Smith has a variety of restaurant locations all around the country, he is a native Floridian and well known for his signature fried chicken, Hummingbird cake and Shine cake, which is a really nice pound cake with a few special touches added making it his own unique dessert. Be sure to give it a try when you find yourself there! I had the boneless fried chicken with mashed potatoes, drop biscuit, homemade cider bread and butter pickles and a side of Mac&Cheese...because who doesn't try the Mac&Cheese? It was all delicious, and I preferred their Mac&Cheese over the mashed potatoes...but that's just my personal opinion.

Little did we know that Chef Art Smith's right-hand man happened to be in the restaurant that night checking in on how things were going. Our waiter informed him that we were dining with the main intention of experiencing the "Homecoming Kitchen Experience" in order to know how to better guide our clients with their choices of dining options at Disney. He personally came over to our table bringing us a large slice of both of their signature cakes (Humming Bird cake and Shine cake) for the three of us to try. He works directly with Chef Art Smith and travels all around the country checking in on his various restaurants making sure things are running smoothly and up to the Chef Art Smith standard. We enjoyed a nice conversation with him, shared our common interests in Lowcountry (Charleston, SC) food favorites and thanked him for the kind gesture of the dessert. Both the Hummingbird cake and Shine Cake were delicious, but we all really enjoyed the Shine Cake...mmm!

It wasn't all meetings...we made time to get in some "research" as well while we were there. I mean somebody had to check out some of the new, and still current, characters around the parks like Princess Elena, Moana, Chewbacca, Kylo Ren, Cinderella.
We managed to say hello to the giraffes on Kilimanjaro Safaris, meet Doc McStuffins at her new location in Animal Kingdom, found an awesome frozen margarita place in Hollywood Studios, enjoyed Flower & Garden Festival at Epcot with live music and took some fun Magic shots with the Disney Photo Pass photographers! I covered some serious territory and STILL did not get to everything I wanted to...ugh. That means another trip will be needed.
Did I learn some new tips...YES! Some things have changed at Walt Disney World® Resort that are resulting in some of our "Tips & Tricks" to now being changed accordingly. This is why it's so important that we stay on top of what changes are happening there, which seems to be often anymore, so that I can better assist you with the planning of your magical Disney vacation!

Disney has released an official opening date for AVATAR - Land of Pandora in Disney's Animal Kingdom park of May 27, 2017. The newest land, which will feature a family-friendly boat ride through the Nav'i River and a thrill ride flying you over Pandora on the flying animals seen in the movie (combination of a horse/flying dragon) will surely not disappoint. It's going to be an immersive experience like nothing seen before in any of Disney's other theme parks. Disney has been known to do a quiet soft opening with no announcement prior to the official opening date for attractions anticipated to have high demand and potential long wait times. Will this one open early...time will tell?
I think this new area is going to really change the game at Disney's Animal Kingdom park once it opens. What do you think? Comment below.

"Happily Ever After," is a new nighttime spectacular that will combine the magic of Disney storytelling, beloved Disney characters, fireworks and so much more, will debut at Magic Kingdom park at Walt Disney World® Resort on May 12, 2017.
The spectacular will inspire you to seek your out and find your own "Happily Ever After: by showcasing some of the greatest adventures Disney characters have taken to achieve their dreams. The show will feature the latest fireworks and pyrotecnics and original animation, plus a heart-tugging original score. And thanks to the inclusion of state of the art projection mapping technology, more Disney characters than ever before will be featured in the show, including moments from "Moana," "Brave," "Big Hero 6," "Zootopia," "The Princess and the Frog," "Aladdin" and many others.
The Fireworks Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace will continue to offer up a scrumptious way to view the nighttime fun as "Happily Ever After" makes its debut.
What are your thoughts about this change of moving away from the classic "Wishes" fireworks that have always been in Magic Kingdom? Are you excited or a little sad about this? Comment below. I"d love to hear what you think about this. I personally love "Wishes," so I have mixed emotions about this change.
Don't forget to "Wish" upon that star!
